Why improv can feel so hard

If you feel like improvisation is harder or scarier for you than for other people, this might help.

Improvising music is a more complex, whole-brain activity than we usually realize or are taught.

It's not just about "feeling the muse" or riffing off of what others are playing…

…and it's also not just about music theory and knowing the conventions of the genre.

It's all of that and more, and everyone needs practice with this balancing act.

P.S. - Fiddleprov—my 6-week course for fiddlers & violinists who want to improvise solos and fills confidently in any genre—is now open again! Click here for more info.
